Fagan Design Build Studio (FDBS) is a comprehensive creative consulting firm, based in Newport Rhode Island.

The primarily focus of the company is providing architectural design and construction management services for both residential and commercial clients. The studio also explores a variety of other topics including Set Design; Historic Preservation; Urban Design and Sustainable Technology.

Over the past nine years ‘FDBS’ has evolved to encompass a dynamic network of design, engineering and construction professionals. FDBS provides clients with innovative design solutions, exceptional graphic imagery and hands-on project management.

FDBS is owned and operated by Newport native Chris Fagan.

Chris is an alumni of Skidmore College where he earned undergraduate degrees in both Studio Art and Anthropology. He then went on to study architectural drafting at Boston Architectural College. After that, he was awarded a Masters degree in Urban Design and Planning from the City University of New York, City College.

Chris served for five years on both the Newport Historic District Commission (HDC) and the Newport Critical Area Review Commission. He has been a professional mentor and guest critic at numerous local design schools including the Paul W. Crowley East Bay Met school, Roger Williams University School of Architecture and the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD).

In addition to architectural design work, Chris also has developed a presence in the New England film industry working as a set designer and art director. His work can be seen in a number of upcoming films including ‘Beyond Skyline’, ‘Altar Rock’ and most notably, ‘The Discovery’.Chris is a member of USA Local 829 union​, of Scenic Design Professionals.

In the Spring of 2016, Chris partnered with Anthony Baro of E2Sol, to establish an innovative new company, ‘Blue Isles Technology’. The focus of this venture is to design and develop a series of floating solar charging platforms for marine environments. These ‘Power Dock’ units can be used for charging a variety of products including electric propulsion engines, underwater robotics and drones. The company is also exploring how these units can be used to create floating micro-grids for sustainable power generation. Blue Isles launched its first prototype in Newport harbor during the summer of 2017.
